Dream

It's been almost 5 months I didn't update my blog, today suddenly feel like blog something. Let's me just blog "something"... Since I started my working life, I never update any artwork, because, 1st, I was very busy with job (although I know this a very stupid excuse), 2nd, I was too lazy to do any artwork. 4 months passed, and my friends are coming back from UK soon, in these 4 months, i don't know whether I got any improvement in terms of skill and handling a project, but all I know for sure is I'm gain more weight :P . Thinking back of last time still study in college, we all really have fun on doing assignment together, hanging out together, always have yum cha session, it was really fun. And now we all graduated, although is only that few months, but we still said "last time when we study in college..." lol~ Still remember when i was first step into the college, I had never think about the future, whether next time what I really want to do. I just feel like study design, I don't even dream about in the future I want to be a designer (I guess most of the people are just like me). But I was really lucky, before start study, i don't even know i really interest in this field or not, but after few semesters, i found out i really like design, thanks God. When I was in 2nd year of diploma, I feel like i have a dream, a dream to become a very successful famous designer, although now I'm not famous and success, but i still glad that I'm working in the field I like. Sometimes dream give us strength, although you might not achieve your dream, but at least it will lead you to the right path. Friends at UK~ Hope you guys got the path you want~ Good luck~ :)

The Adventure of Putrajaya

Today woke up in the early morning, not even 6a.m. yet, because plan to go the hot air balloon fiesta at Putrajaya. Cornelius, Carmen and me. Reach there at 7.45 a.m. , we though that came early so we can get the ticket to ride on the hot air balloon. Unfortunately, the ticket was sold out since yesterday, heck, we can only take photo all just see people riding on the balloon... and somemore the weather not good. All of the photo i took totally not nice. Saw quite a lot of friends at there, I guess most of the photographers and lomo kaki went this fiesta~ Met Neecole at there, and I abandon Cornelius they two then follow Neecole go walk around >.< . Until 10a.m. something, decided to back home. Here's the climax, let me tell the story through dialogue mode.

Cornelius : Loong later you drive la.

Me : Huh? I drive? Why?

Cornelius : Carmen very sleepy d, me also~

Carmen : I want sleep at behind la~

Me : .......

Carmen : Later after makan you drive la.

Me : O.... if you not worry that I drive I ok 1... (actually bit scared, because never drive at kl b4...)

Cornelius : Never mind 1 la~

And the walk to the car, Carmen drive at this time, and here's the situation in the car...

After 5 minutes on the highway...

Cornelius : .......... ( totally sleep d...)

Carmen : ......... (driving....)

Me : ........... (nothing)

Carmen : ......... (eyes become smaller and smaller.....)

Me : ......... ( looking her eyes through the mirror and realize something wrong....)

Carmen : ............( eyes totally close... and the car starting to go left...)

Me : !!!!!!!! Carmen!! wake up ar! (hitting her shoulder)

Carmen : Har?! har!?

Cornelius : Har?! har!? (Just wake up)

Me : Walau~! Carmen you fall asleep ar~!

Carmen : Hahaha~ damn sleepy la~

Cornelius : Yea lo~ hahaha~

Carmen : You la Cornelius distract me~!

Me : ............ ( almost heart attack...)

After that we went Puchong for breakfast, change me to drive back Wangsa. On the way back to Wangsa, Corn and Carmen sleep like a death body, so I have keep on wake up Carmen ask the direction, and the most amazing part is, once I wake up Carmen, and after she told me the direction, she can straight away fall asleep, amazing. Thanks God finally I arrived home safely.

So today lesson is, make sure you are very awake while you driving, if feel sleepy please stop at the road side rest a while, or ask your friends who really awake 1 to drive. Remember 1 thing, everytime you fetching people, at that moment, their life is on your hand. Responsible to them and yourself ; love yourself and also your friends and family. Drive safely.

Didn't manage to take many photos, because the weather not that nice, and all photos I took quite sucks. Wait for 2 more days I go develop my film, hope the roll of film won't under-exposed la... =.=

The interview day

Yesterday i was went to MFX for interview, the company is located at Imbi, jalan inai. Without my own transport, I have to take LRT and change monorail to bukit bintang and somemore still need to walk to the office for about 10 minutes, imagine how hot is the weather yesterday. Reach there was about 10:30am. Waiting in there for half hour, and a woman come for interview me, i couldn't remember her name, but she's design department 1. Overall the interview quite smooth, quite positive la, the interviewer like my works ( got some staffs standing outside see my work and told me nice work, so happy~ ). At 1st i though after interview I can straight away know wether I can work there or not, but the interviewer told me wait for their call, maybe got 2nd interview, or else they will update me after Chinese New Year. After the interview, she take me to visit their working environment, and I saw my senior working at there, if I really can work there, at least got 1 friend inside la, lol~ After I leave there, I just go walk around at sungai wang area, then only go back. Here is the photos i took yesterday, try see wether you guys can find out the mistake or not, because these 2 photos are actually highly photoshoped. Pocari Sweat

After 1 week, finally I got mood to post something. Actually is not something new la, just to share our final year project at here. In our final year project, my group did TV commercial for a sport drink called Pocari Sweat. You might think the name of the drink sound funny, but yes, the drink is called Pocari Sweat. Pocari Sweat is a product of a japan company name Otsuka. It taste like 100 plus but without gas and less sugar. So, these 2 are what we have produce~

Actually the initial plan we are going to do 3 series of TV commercial, but because of some technical problem, lack of time, so we have to give up the last version and focus on these two. And we also did 2 different design as promotion items for this project.

Sorry for the mark in these 2 design, because I felt it very commercial, scared got people steal it for commercial usage ( although I know no one will do la XD ).

Finally, want to say thank you to all my group member - smart Nicky Buoi who did the 3D water by using real flow, our best animator Cedric Xian who really did a very good job in this project, most hardworking 1, and also our leng lui so call producer in our group~ Sze Yen~~~ without her, our project won't be so successful, she alone did all the stuff which we really don't like to do, and she really help me a lot in the 3D motion graphic. And yea~ our lovely lecturer a.k.a. our senior a.k.a. someone boy friend... Bernard~ who really help us a lot in our final project. Thank you very much~ ^^

The Art of Typography

Yea~ After a week something, finally I got an idea to post. Thanks to Six, because recently I just drop by at his blog, talking about their subject in this semester, one of the subject is basic typography. Actually this post is specially post for my juniors, since they learn typography this semester, just to let them have more interest to typography. Not gonna talk about the history of typography, just to share about my experience and opinion of typography. Still remember that when I was 1st year Diploma, the third semester we just started to learn about typography, compare with our juniors, they already start to learn in second semester. Thanks to Mr Ng something, I learned to love typography, a lot.

In art and design, typography play a very important role. You can see typography at everywhere, every corner. Usually we read a lot in book, magazine, although it just a paragraph with a lot of text, but it's a part of typography. For most of the people might think that just a text ONLY, but for me, when we reading, we are seeing something so called Art. Nowadays, designer love use typo to design their stuff. No matter in what element, typo just appear everywhere. It doesn't have to be so complicated, just see how you arrange it. Here is some great examples of typo arrangement.

I realize I getting more and more lazy to design new artwork, where's passion go? sigh~ anyway, I would like to share some of my work here, comment are welcome~

Shoe Fantasy

I have spend a very very long time to finish this design, not because of the design hard to do, is because I'm so damn lazy until I used more than half year to finish it. Well, should say don't even complete yet, but I'm lazy to continue to add things. If not mistaken, I been started this design since January, this year. Then when February, i started my internship, so I just leave this design for 3 months long. After the internship I still lazy to continue to finish until now I just try to finish. I still remember that the original photo i taken by me at Pavilion when I was alone go walk here and there around sungai wang area, so sad.

Destruction

Actually I don't know why that I'll name this work as "destruction", it doesn't really "destuction", but, I kinda like this word. This is a personal work I did during my internship. During that time, I got nothing to do for the whole week in the office, watching all my colleagues working like hell and I was so damn free to did this design. For your information, those bar are not 3D, yea I know, it does not look like also... Zzz... but I kinda like this kind of "fake 3D shape" since I was inspired by Blindn , an Australia artist. Also inspired by most of the design by oversea artist, their design were include depth. What I mean of "depth", is the apply the depth of field in the design. As you can see in "Destruction", i made some small blur pieces to give depth of field feeling. Do consider "depth of field" in your design, but make sure it suit with your design.

Happy Birthday Qiong Wen

This is not really new work la, I have uploaded it since last month when my friend, Moon, 21st birthday. Let's talk about how i did this, those typo are 3D text that create by 3Ds max. The reason I use 3D text is not because of I though that 3D text look nice in the design at 1st, it is because of my laziness. Before I did this, I though of use illustration style to create the typo, but it's quite troublesome, because I need to sketch on a paper and trace it in photoshop. And then, I change to use 3D text. But surprisingly, the outcome look good. You guys might ask, why the heck those liquid look so fake 1? sorry lo, I know it's look cacat, but that's my limit to create the liquid, I cannot make it look more realistic liao la~ And yea, I print it as photo and put in a photo frame to present to Moon. It really look good in photograph, do consider print your work as photograph, the color quite nice, better than some "printing shop" around Tmn Melawati.

Finally, yes, finally. I have start my blog, i been talking about open a blog since long long time ago. Because of my blog header design plus my laziness to finish my header, till now i only start my blog. Actually I don't really know how to write a very long article in the blog and also, I don't like to do so. Basically I will talk about art, design and my lifestyle in my blog, and share some of my work. Well, I really got not much thing to talk about, at last, share with u guys a simple work. Be Happy~
